Vice President JD Vance told reporters to cover the White House: “If you are a propagandist of the Democratic Party, then we are going to treat you like a propagandist of the Democratic Party.”
The United States vice president, JD Vance, hinted that some journalists covering Trump's White House are biased, which may even be democratic “propagandists”, and that the new government will closely monitor those who ask questions in the press conferences.
“I really believe that we observe very seriously who are the reporters who attend, because if you are a reporter, even if you have a bias to the left, we definitely want to answer your questions,” Vance told Sean Hannity of Fox News in an interview issued by the Wednesday.
“If you are a propagandist of the Democratic Party, then we are going to treat you like a propagandist of the Democratic Party,” said Republican Vice President, without giving more details.
Vance also praised the White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who made his debut in the press room this week.
Leavitt announced that two seats next to his podium, usually occupied by White House personnel, would be used by “new media” journalists, instead of traditional media reporters who already have seats in the press room.
“Karoline received many new media representatives, many young people representing, I think, the avant -garde of the media in this country … These are actually some of the people who promote the news in 2025 in the United States,” he said Vance.
Leavitt said the Trump team plans to restore press credentials of more than 400 individuals who, according to her, were “incorrectly revoked” by the government of former president Joe Biden.
