Two days after President Donald Trump met the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the White House, the US government informed the Congress that it plans to sell more than 7,000 million dollars in armament to Israel, which includes thousands of bombs and missiles.
The State Department has formally informed Congress that plans to sell more than $ 7,000 million in arms to Israel, including thousands of bombs and missiles, only two days after the president Donald Trump met with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House.
The enormous sale of weapons occurs while maintaining a fragile high fire agreement between Israel and Hamas, even while Trump continues to promote its widely criticized proposal to transfer all the Palestinians of Gaza and convert it to an international travel destination.
The sale is another step in Trump's effort to reinforce the Arsenal de Armas of Israel. At the end of January, shortly after assuming the position, he raised the prohibition of sending 907 kilograms (2,000 pounds) to Israel. The Biden government had paused a shipment of these bombs due to concerns about civil casualties, particularly during an assault in the southern city of Gaza de Rafah.
Trump told reporters to release them for Israel, “because they bought them.”
According to the State Department, two separate sales were sent to Congress. One is for 6,750 million dollars in a series of ammunition, orientation kits and other related equipment. Includes 166 small diameter pumps, 2,800 pumps of 500 pounds (about 227 kilos) and thousands of guidance kits, spounds and other components of bombs and support equipment. Deliveries would begin this year.
The other weapon package is for 3,000 Hellfire missiles and equipment related for an estimated cost of 660 million dollars. The deliveries of the missiles are expected to begin in 2028.
