“Liz Cheney could be in a lot of trouble based on evidence obtained by the subcommittee, which states that 'numerous federal laws were likely violated by Liz Cheney, and these violations should be investigated by the FBI,'” Trump wrote in a post on his Truth Social site.
Her post referenced Tuesday's release of a report from the Republican-led House Government Oversight Committee that called for an investigation into Cheney, the daughter of former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney, who lost her bid for office. re-election in 2022.
Cheney alleged in a statement that the report amounted to an attempt to whitewash Trump's role in the events of January 6.
