From Daytona 500, President Donald Trump said the emblematic career is a unifying event for all Americans and a symbol of “unwavering spirit that makes the United States big.”
Donald Trump, who attended the Daytona 500 on Sunday, for the second time as president, described the inaugural event of the Nascar series as a unifying event that has a spirit that “will feed the golden age of America”, which which has affirmed that it will happen under its leadership.
In a presidential message released while flying towards Daytona Beach, Florida, Trump said that Daytona 500's career brings together people from all areas of life in a “passion shared by speed, adrenaline and the emotion of the race.”
“From the roar of the engines on the track to the echo of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' resonating in the stands, the Daytona 500 is a timeless tribute to the speed, the strength and the unwavering spirit that make the US great,” Trump said. “That spirit is what will feed the golden age of the United States, and if we take advantage of it, the future is truly ours.”
Trump said in his inaugural speech on January 20 that “the US golden age begins right now.”
The Air Force One survived the Daytona International Speedway Autodrome before landing. Trump traveled from West Palm Beach, Florida airport, with several guests, including his son Eric, his wife, his grandson Luke, the Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, and the Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, and his wife, Kathryn, according to the White House. Several members of the Congress traveled with Trump.
His delegation arrived at the autodrome entering a part of the track. Trump's limousine then led the drivers in two ceremonial laps and he communicated by radio to urge them to have fun and be safe.
“This is its favorite president. I am a big fan. I am a big fan of you. How do this I don't know, but I just want them to be safe, ”said Trump. “You are talented people and you are great people and great Americans. Have a good day, have a lot of fun and see you later. ”
Trump was in the race in 2020 while running for a second mandate. He was granted the honor of being the great marshal of the greatest and most prestigious event of Nascar of the year and gave the order to the pilots to turn on their engines. The Air Force One also overflowed and its limousine circulated through the Speedway on that occasion.
Sunday's career began in front of an audience with exhausted tickets, but it stopped approximately an hour later, after eight laps, due to the heavy rain that was expected to cause a long delay.
