“The Accountant 2” film criticism: Brotherly autism action

Ben Affleck and his film brother Jon Bernthal are competing against a criminal superiority this time to save children.

If that is not a special talent – you could directly Multitasking speak: On the one hand, the autistic Christian Wolff A math, on the other hand, the type is a one-man army because he received training in all arms and melee techniques from the soldier's father. Of course there is talk of the so -called accountant when Ben Affleck enrolled in action film history in 2016. After that, you treated the unusual hero for nine years, but now it continues for him – again under Gavin O'Connor's direction.

Help from the brother, the contract killer

A figure that already played an important role in the previous film was murdered and there is a message directly to the accountant on the body. First, however, another well-known face comes into play and it is due to Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), the deputy director of the US Ministry of Finance, to establish contact with the accountant.

As soon as Wolff is on board, he quickly realizes that the confusing traces point to a large -scale criminal network. Since his enemies have a lot of killers, he does not want to face this superiority alone, but get help from his own relatives. This time his highly dangerous brother Brax (Punisher actor Jon Bernthal) is fighting at his side, whom we already know from the first part, where he worked as a contract killer-these Wolffs are just a pretty unconventional family.

Several children's stars

Wolff's mysterious client ended up in the end of part 1 as his also autistic childhood friend. This time your artificial voice also gives a lot of valuable information on your cell phone and we will be fascinated with what you and a hacker team are capable of from special children. Incidentally, at the center of the action is the rescue operation for another special child, to which the accountant feels very drawn for certain reasons. But also a mysterious woman without a past who is now making bloody jobs with a high level of violence against payment will cause surprises.

Race against time

It turns out to be a luck that the two brothers now spend a lot of time together – this creates some of the best moments. For example, the two hang together on the roof of Chris' motorhome, a conversation gets going somewhat tediously and the Taffe Brax apparently suddenly suddenly a unexpectedly soft side. But that becomes a habit for him, because after he later mowed dozens of bad guys, he really opens his heart when he saw a cat.

A particularly unscrupulous criminal cartel, which spreads to children, finally lets the brothers take a real race against time and there are scenes that are reminiscent of “Sicario”. The violence is sometimes highly dosed, but at the same time O'Connor also knows how to work with recesses – you don't have to see everything so that the tension is preserved.

Unexpectedly funny scenes

But here is not so much the accountant as an action hero, but more important are those moments in which he reveals his idiosyncrasies. Then he rattles down the number columns that he calculated with his human computer brain or practices interpersonal signals such as smile.

Affleck has further perfected this figure and there are always funny scenes – especially when we meet the main character in a very unexpected environment: for example, at a dating event, where Chris takes part as a candidate for professional reasons, or once he actually enters the dance floor and unexpectedly out. He has also not forgotten the Salomon Grundy verses and still says it in particularly delicate situations-at least once we get it to hear in this film.
