Mexico and the US could reach an agreement before the deadline for the application of tariffs proposed by Washington to Mexican products is in, President Claudia Sheinbaum said.
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reiterated on Tuesday that he hopes to reach an agreement with the Donald Trump government on the imposition of tariffsafter the comments of the American president on the eve and a few days of the date of March 4 agreed by the leaders.
Sheinbaum expressed in his daily press conference that the president's statement had to be heard complete and not only the party referring to tariffs to Mexico and Canada, including the reciprocity part claiming that between the two nations there are no tariffs. He also said that dialogues between officials in the two countries continue.

“Obviously the agreement has to close this week,” said the president. “These dialogues continue, then we are going to wait until this cycle closes, thus waiting for an agreement with the United States,” he added.
