“Jurassic World: The rebirth” criticism: Dinos for blood acceptance

Once the dinosaurs have already died out, but a second time it is guaranteed not to happen as long as Hollywood has a word. In 2022, the second dino trilogy came to an end with “Jurassic World: A new age” and we hadn't actually expected to experience a newer age. But it is apparently never too late for a rebirth and so the old dinosaurs are coming to us with completely new people: Instead of Howard, Pratt, Neill and Goldblum, it is now called Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend and Maherhala Ali – which also doesn't sound bad either.

Climate change also affects the lizard -like primeval bobs and five years after their liberation from Isla Nublar, they are no longer available to the whole world, but they have to look for a habitat near the equadi raw. They are isolated there again, but they still have no peace because human visit comes. The representative of a pharmaceutical company (Friend) hires a mercenary (Johansson), a dinosaur expert (Bailey) and a captain (Ali).

This group enters the remote island with a clearly defined mission, which sounds pretty crazy: they want to tap blood to the primeval animals, which should then serve as the basis for a sensational human remedy. The thing has only one catch, because the dinosaurs are not so helpful to keep silent to a blood sample, but do their best to make this task difficult.

Dinos in three elements: water – earth – air

So that it remains varied, various species are required for this company – namely acidic that inhabit water, land and air. And so there are first sea scenes that could come directly from “the white dino shark”, then the team members roam the jungle, also dangle on ropes above the abyss, penetrate into a rock nest because there have been airschaowerers their eggs there and finally there is still a big showdown at an abandoned base, although it is loud and explosive.

Without wanting it, a small family – father, two daughters and a friend – also stumbles into this adventure and has to make a dangerous way across the island. Of course, this happens so that we have a few more people we can worry about. But on the other hand, it seems to be clear from the outset that this family is pretty taboo in terms of mortality, while some other secondary characters can be classified as a dinoface immediately.

We await us of iconic scenes when dinos are peeling out of the fog or creeping to future opera in the dead corner. All of this is staged with enough ingenuity in order to never let our attention tired. But not only danger comes from the special animals: So we meet a vegetarian tiny who is suitable as a sweet pet and get the opportunity to observe a gigantic dinopian when turtling in love.

If the paleontologist realizes at the beginning that nobody is interested in dinosaur, this can also be seen as a sign of a fatigue in the Jurassic franchise. But “the rebirth” is on the right track to change this again: After the previous part had deteriorated to a James Bond with dinos, screenwriter David Koepp – from which the scripts for the two of the very first “Jurassic Park” films – reflect on the original strength of the series: adventurous acid action at exotic locations with spectacular images.

And you can prepare for extreme size differences: from the carelessly thrown packaging of a chocolate bar at the beginning, to a dinosaur giant at the end, who easily picks a helicopter with his mouth (who should have doubted that you shouldn't wake a sleeping T-Rex?).
