“Deadpool & Wolverine”: Dirty duo in red and yellow

Deadpool has finally landed in the MCU and has lost none of his weird charm.

That's where the two right people meet: if there's a fight between them, not much can happen because their healing powers are phenomenal. Even if they fall to pieces, they are completely usable again a short time later. Deadpool celebrates his here brilliant Debut in the MCUand Ryan Reynolds takes the opportunity to finally shake up the comic world together with his buddy Hugh Jackman.

The opening scene alone, in which we see what Deadpool does to a colleague he has never met in person, is both disrespectful and hilarious – and at the same time extremely painful for many of those involved (but luckily they don't have to suffer for long, because death quickly releases them).

Deadpool and Wolverine are rated for ages 16 and up

The usually bad-tempered claw man died in “Logan” in 2017, but who stays dead for good at Marvel? In a Deadpool film you have to expect everything and that too Multiverse with its countless possibilities, complete madness breaks out. Just this much about the plot: Deadpool gets it with that TVA (a short tutoring session with “Loki” won't hurt) and learns that his world, in which Wolverine played an important role, is doomed.

He doesn't want to accept that and looks for another Wolverine with whom he can fight against time. However, it takes some time for the new duo to get used to each other, and the two can't attack each other often enough; not out of love, but because they want to be at each other's throats. Everything they do to each other is shown with great joy in detail – and there must be some reason why the film is only released for ages 16 and up.

An excellently villainous Emma Corin

Then a special woman suddenly appears, whose lack of hair on her head already indicates her relationship to the famous teacher of the X-Men. In fact, the one from Emma Corrin Cassandra Nova played the evil twin sister of Charles Xavier aka. Professor X. There was already a showdown between the two in the womb. Here she is the ruler of a special empire (“Mad Max” and “Furiosa” send their regards) and anyone who gets in her way has nothing to laugh about.

Since she has the same powers as her brother, she is a serious threat. You shouldn't believe that when you look at the petite Corrin. She was previously best known as the young Diana from “The Crown”, but with this new role she finally gives the MCU a worthy villain again – and the nasty things she does with her fingers cause extreme discomfort just watching.

A brilliant twosome with lots of guest stars and a dog

We can look forward to a number of other guest stars: some of them are only needed for a few seconds, although they have what it takes for bigger appearances; and through two special characters, Marvel is brazenly using the opportunity to indirectly advertise upcoming films. But the most important contributor is undoubtedly the “ugliest dog in the world” and he clearly wears this title with pride; He also loves Deadpool and can't slobber all over his face often enough.

So Reynolds and Jackman are finally doing it together, and this twosome has it all. Good things take time, but it was really worth the long wait. When they shake up the MCU with hearty jokes, dirty insults and bloody blades, it's just great fun and one can hope that it won't be their last teamwork. Oh yes, Wolverine is in the original yellow combat suit for the first time – that alone made his return from the dead worth it.
