The treasure hunt in the Blaume Eisental movie review

The artistically implemented “The Treasure Search in the Blaume Eisental”, which is implemented with great attention to detail, is aimed at Lucie (voice in the original: Lucie LĂ©ontiadis), who spends her summer vacation in the country and experiences many adventures there, of course, primarily on children. But the silhouette film captivates the free feeling of a very specific phase of life in such a way that adults will also inevitably find emotional connection.

After all, everyone has experienced this phase in which the whole world appeared to you like a completely new, exciting adventure playground, you have researched your environment completely and full of curiosity. It also tells of identity finding and cohesion, but the fun of discovering the unknown is clearly in the foreground on Antoine Lancioux's director's debut. And this fun quickly turns to young and somewhat older spectators, which is why the time together with Lucie passes almost too quickly, as the summer vacation then passes.

Very special summer vacation

The nine -year -old Lucie drives to her mother, who grew up in the region and is currently heading an archaeological expedition in a castle ruin. She even takes it so much that she doesn't even make it to the train in time to pick up her daughter. There are two blue iron at the train station, which the girl will accompany on her way from now on. Lucie loosely takes the delay, because there is a lot to discover in the new environment. Already on the way back from the train station, she discovers an injured roof she takes into her care.

A little later Lucie gets to know the somewhat older Yann (Anton Soubie-Giorgis), with whom she explores the area and who tells her about a strange old man who lives in a camp in the forest and is avoided by everyone. But the nerd could perhaps be the only rescue for the injured badger, which is why the girl takes all his courage together and visits him. But the greatest adventure that will change Lucie and her family's life forever is waiting in the old castle ruin …

The supposedly simple animations, they are stuck despite the clear shapes full of small details.

The supposedly simple animations, they are stuck despite the clear shapes full of small details.

Especially the adventures in the castle ruin with their narrow shafts and dark caves evoking memories of youth book classics such as “five friends” or children's adventure films such as “The Goonies”. At the same time, “the treasure hunt in the Blaume Eisental” is different from the fact that there is no antagonist and no exaggerated threats. There are tension moments, but Lancioux always pays attention to maximum connection ability to the world life of his young audience. Lucies often humorous experiences are rather small, but experiences that the young spectators could also have (and which are therefore even particularly involved).

To increase credibility, that is to say to the “realistic” feeling, also contributes to the design: Despite the rather simple designs, the film, which is made of more than 100,000 individual images, feels extremely alive, for which not only the expressive drawings, but just as many small, casual details ensure. There is a small hedgehog when driving past the path and looks after mother and daughter – or flirting, barely perceptible, tiny flying through the cowshed.

Conclusion: The perfect children's film! Very sensitive and beautifully designed, “The treasure hunt in the Blaume Eisental” is always linked to the living environment of the young audience, but is also interesting for adults. And the most beautiful thing: he sends a great message to the cinema hall! The community counts – in the end everyone sticks together: children, parents, grandparents and even the animals are part of it!
