The somewhat too long film spreads farewell mood and confronts the Warrens with its most personal case.
Guese and demons can finally breathe a sigh of relief: after this film, the Warren couple hang in the form of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson no longer put his job on the nail and attracts a parapsychological emergency team as soon as a case of obsession has broken out somewhere or the spirits rumble. So what is this fourth and last chapter about? Of course, everything is based on real events and has happened exactly the same way – big ghost teaching word!

From the first to the last case
For this farewell performance of the Warrens, director and franchise veteran Michael Chaves came up with a special shoot and beats a big arc, because the plot includes the time between 1964 and 1986. At the beginning, we experience Ed and Lorraine in their very first case, which they do not exactly exist with flying colors, but from the scene of an uncomfortable antique warehouse with their daughter, where their daughter Under dramatic circumstances, Judy sees the cloudy light of the world (of course, the electricity is delivered).
22 years later, the two paranormal investigators have already officially calmed down in order to be able to devote themselves entirely to private life. At most, they keep a sparse slide lecture in the province, but then she gets evil back in a very personal way and forces them to become active again in this “last chapter”.

Demonic family terror
Judy is now a young woman (Mia Tomlinson) and brings her friend Tony (Ben Hardy) home. This ex-police officer must first find his way around in the unusual family and, above all, convince the skeptical ED of his qualities. The eight -member family Smurl from Pennsylvania, on the other hand, has completely different problems, because since an old mirror has appeared in her house, the eerie incidents have not been tearing off.
The media will soon become aware of these demonic visits to the extra class, and the “conjuring” fans also very familiar Father Gordon (Steve Coulter) becomes aware. He wants to consult the Warrens, but they first wave off. Only after all sorts of unpleasant turns do they end up under the roof – and especially in the attic – the smurls and have to recognize that their first case from 1964 is directly related to this current demon driving.

Demonic showdown
The film has become a little too long and suffers from start -up difficulties, because until the intervention of the Warrens and the showdown, there is a lot of time. Then it goes well and the evil appears in a variety of figures: a man with a demon face and pick -up hoe Lorraine helps an involuntary bloodbath, and the mirror always has new surprises. Since a “conjuring” film is also unthinkable without Annabell, this doll can already show its trick with the rocking chair and even inflate it to giant size.
Does every demon always know exactly what religious beliefs belong to his victims? I find it a relief if the evil could not be driven out by the thousand times from the thousand times from the cross -fabric, Bible -Babbbel and holy water scattering, but could be brought to a very denominational way – let's say a devilish good joke or sneezing powder due to a terrifying loud car. We are shown here that family cohesion also helps against the demon dank.

Worthy farewell to the Warrens
What lucky that Lorraine has the visual gift, because so she finally succeeds in taking a look at the future of her family on a particularly solemn day. This enables us to say goodbye to the Warrens. And while the credits are running shortly afterwards, we are also offered original material: photos from the family album, private film recordings and press reports from their great cases.
It was definitely for Ed and Lorrain, but whether we really saw the very last “conjuring” chapter must be opened-theoretically, it would be possible that a new Warren generation will continue the parapsychological heritage. After all, Ed has already passed on the key to the eerie private museum.
