Judge orders Trump's government to return to thousands of fired workers

US Judge orders President Donald Trump's government to return to thousands of workers who have been dismissed.

A federal judge of California ordered six US agencies on Thursday to return to thousands of newly hired employees who were fired as part of the purge of President Donald Trump of the workforce of the central government.

The ruling of the district judge William Alsup during a hearing in San Francisco applies to the Department of Defense, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Energy, the Department of Interior and the United States Department of the Treasury.

Last month, Alsup temporarily prevented the Personnel Management Office (OPM) from the Human Resources Department of federal agencies, ordered the agencies to fire employees during the trial period, but refused to demand that the dismissed workers be rejoined.

Alsup said Thursday that the OPM has no power to order dismissals, and that there was evidence that the cessation of workers in the six agencies had improperly ordered.

He did not order, however, 16 other agencies, mentioned in the demand for unions and non -profit groups, which readmit to the workers.

“It's a sad day when our government dismisses some good employee and says it was based on performance when they know that is a lie,” said Alsup.

The potential scale of Trump's efforts to reduce the Federal Government of the United States could be clarified on Thursday, a deadline for government agencies to present plans for a second wave of mass layoffs and cut their budgets.
