Prodigy’s ‘Fat of the Land’ is loud, rude and fun
A teen reviews the new Prodigy album.
“Your parents will hate it because it’s loud, fast, and the boys in Prodigy aren’t exactly the type they’d like to see you bring home. However, you will love Prodigy’s fourth (surprisingly) and newest album “The Fat of the Land.” The album’s opening track “Smack My B—— Up” starts you on a journey into a world of futuristic, electronic dance music. The second song is “Breathe” which is played a lot on KROQ, and is my favorite song on the album, with its “Mission Impossible”-esque opening. The CD continues with songs such as “Serial Thrilla,” “Climbatize,” and the also well-known hit “Firestarter,” closing with an eerie, Halloweeny cover of L7’s “Fuel My Fire.”
My only complaints: “Funky S—-” and “Diesel Power” don’t really go with the other songs on the album, and can cause it to lose momentum. Also, “Narayan” is too long (with a running time of 9:06) as is “Climbatize.” However, I highly recommend shelling out the $13.99 for disc, but don’t drive slowly while playing it really loud. I found out that will really scare people.”
