Movie review: Paranormal Activity
Patricia, 18, says this new horror movie will scare the living daylights out of you.
The unbelievably frightening Paranormal Activity will keep you from sleeping alone at night. Unlike other horror movies Paranormal Activity is filmed in a documentary style, which made things feel so real and more terrifying.
The movie is about a couple, Micah and Katie, who lives in a house they believe is haunted. The movie starts with Micah staring in the camera introducing both him and Katie and describing their reason for filming their lives. Micah says he sometimes hears footsteps coming up the stairs. Katie says she hears someone whispering her name sometimes as well. So Micah decided that he would record everything to make sure that it’s not the neighbors playing some sort of trick on them or something more scary, ghosts. The couple also gets a psychic to come to their house to get the ghost out if it is a ghost. But he tells the couple that it’s not a ghost. It’s a demon and it wants Katie. As days go by things get a lot worse when Micah brings home a Ouija board after being told not to by the psychic. You could hear loud thumping throughout the house. You can see Katie being dragged across the hall and footprints of a monster on their floor. There are so many horrifying parts that will keep you screaming at the top of your lungs.
When I saw the movie trailer a few weeks ago it didn’t look very scary, just gory. So when I went to the midnight showing I expected it to be a lame movie with a lot of blood. I was wrong.
This movie had me trembling all night. I almost passed out when I saw the ending. I recommend you don’t watch it alone because you want to have someone there to hug in the scary parts and squeeze their hand. Beware for Paranormal Activity.
