Learn to Rock Climb

“If you’re tired of just hanging out and doing nothing, why not learn to rock-climb?
Rockreation, an indoor sport-climbing facility in Los Angeles near the intersection of Olympic and Bundy, can teach you to climb on simulated rock faces.
For non-members, you can take a $40 three-hour introduction (includes equipment) called Fight Gravity One. After that you can climb there for a week for free.
Private lessons are $70, or you can get a discount if you go with five people or more.
Then it costs $15 a day for climbing, plus $5 to rent rock-climbing shoes, a harness and chalk to make it easier for your hands to cling. Student rates are $35 to join (with the Fight Gravity One discount) and $37 a month. Not bad considering that you probably spend that much on two movies and snacks with friends. Go climbing instead! Your newly buff body will thank you for it.
Rockreation is at 11866 LaGrange Ave. near Olympic and Bundy; (310) 207-7199. Call to make your reservations for a class.”
