‘Cats And Dogs’ Is a Silly Little Comedy
A teen reviews ‘The Truth about Cats and Dogs’
“The truth behind “The Truth about Cats and Dogs” is that it’s really just another Hollywood movie. You know, the type of movie you would rent, but not tape, the type that you would see if it’s a bargain matinee, but not at full price.
The movie is about a man caught between two women. (Now don’t you wish you were him?) J. Garofalo plays Abby, a deejay and veterinarian who has her own radio show. One caller becomes intrigued by the personality behind the mike and arranges to meet her. She flakes out and gets her airhead model friend, Uma Thurman, to pose as her. Quite frankly, Abby is the opposite, regular-looking, witty and talented. She seems like a person you would marry and not have a one-night stand with.
Despite the movie’s shallow plot there are two lessons a viewer should learn. For all the guys out there, being involved with two women may seem like a fantasy at first, but it’s really a nightmare. For all the girls out there, fighting over one guy just isn’t worth it. Instead of fighting, try looking next door or across the street. In case you haven’t noticed, Los Angeles boasts over six million inhabitants. Go find someone who cares about you!”
