The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention statistics page covers a range of topics related to juvenile justice.
State:
The National Conference of State Legislators’ page helps you find out what lawmakers are doing in different states. The site focuses on legislation being considered and adopted, covering everything from prevention at early childhood to moving juveniles into adult court and best practices. This link will take you to a search page, where you can type in juvenile justice.
The California League of Women Voters studied juvenile justice in the state in 1995. While this report is a few years old, it still contains relevant information on many aspects of juvenile justice including, prevention, how juveniles are transferred to adult court, minorities, girls and alternatives to incarceration among others.
Local:
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Web site has statistical information on juvenile crime. After you go to the main page, scroll down and click on "Crime statistics" on the leftside navigation bard.
The Los Angeles Almanac’s "Crime and Justice" page offers statistics and contact information for various aspects of juvenile justice and those who work in the field.
